As a Software Engineer IV for i.s.h.med Model System, you will write and configure code in SAP for new and upgraded solutions in accordance with technical specifications. You will analyze, design, code, debug, test, and modify new software or enhancements while considering software abilities and will be able to create strategic technical designs for small scope projects within the team. You will use your technical expertise to provide high-level architecture guidance and develop specifications to resolve software problems and consult with stakeholders on the current functionality and complexity of adding features. You will be able to estimate effort for current and future projects of small to medium scope.

As the Software Engineer IV, you will debug complicated issues that span multiple modules, involves complex concurrency or low-level problems such as performance and will have the ability to propose and lead process improvements projects for development, deployment, or application monitoring. As a Senior member of the team, you will also be expected to share knowledge within the team through mentorship, coaching, and technical talks.

Working Environment

Hybrid or Remote

This position offers a Hybrid or Remote working environment. Meaning if you live within a metro area of a Cerner office, you will split working time between a Cerner office and remote. If you are not within a metro area of a Cerner office, you can live and work in your current geographical location and work primarily remote. #LI-Hybrid #Remote

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
  • At least 9 years total combined higher education and related work experience, including:
    • 3 years software engineering work experience
    • 6 years higher education and/or additional work experience directly related to the duties of the job including:
      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Information Technology or related field, or equivalent relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 4 years of experience in SAP ABAP OO programming and development
  • At least 3 years work experience working on SAP Healthcare and i.s.h.med projects as a developer
  • At least 1 year of work experience developing products based on SAP Healthcare and i.s.h.med
  • Basic understanding of the most critical aspects of a clinical information system for end-users
  • Demonstratable knowledge in the following areas:
    • Product development vs Project development
    • SAP Enhancement framework including a deep knowledge of the BAdIs that are available in i.s.h.med
Expectations:
  • Ability to work overtime and irregular hours as needed
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned
  • English language skills
